Schedule is indeed pronounced with a “sh” because it’s derived from French (cedule). When Dorothy Parker was informed of ths upon her visit to Britain she is said to have replied, “Oh skit.”
“School” is Old English. If you’re looking to impose consistency in English pronunciation, you’re about 900 years too late.
